Welcome to my internet diary – a place where I share my love of fine hats, headwear, style, life and little bit of D.I.Y. projects that keep my creativity going.
My name is Nanphanita or Anita for short. I was born and raised in the wonderful city of Bangkok and I’ve lived there almost all my life. I’m a wife, creative entrepreneur, jewelry designer, writer, positive pursuer, style lover and hat addict. Now I’m just happy to live in new Jersey – a place that I can write my own story.
I launched an online jewelry business called SiammPatra in 2015, which my responsibilities included designing jewelry, budgeting for production, marketing, and etc. (As you can see I’ve been wearing so many hats since then – not typical hats that I’m going to write in this blog though). I worked behind my computer and I was insecure to be myself on my jewelry business page. It took me a full six years to get out of my shell and started Nanphanita.com
Styling always comes to me naturally, perhaps it feels like I can stroke a brush and paint a canvas of myself. It’s in my DNA – it’s who I am. There are times when I dress up beautifully and I feel good about myself and there are times when I don’t like how I look, and both are equally important. The process of dressing up is working on imagination and giving me a sense of understanding what works and what doesn’t.
Why hats? I love accessories especially jewelry and hats. I seldom buy jewelry anymore because I always wear my SiammPatra jewelry mixing with some of my treasures that I’ve collected through the years from Thailand and abroad. I wear hats because I love them. Honestly I started wearing hats because I consider them the best tools to take away bad hair days (and let me tell you…dry shampoo is not my thing). Since then I’ve adopted the love affair with hats. I think they’re becoming on me – my hat collection is expanding and each one represents a different personality. One hat can give me Audrey Hepburn vibes, one hat can take me to an adventure like Indiana Jones – they make me look interesting. Anyway, my point is for you to have fun with what you wear so you can go out there and conquer the world (mine will be one hat at a time).
